Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting for general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards and regulations. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients. Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when necessary. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry. Experience with EMR systems, particularly Dentrix or Eaglesoft, is highly desirable. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Understanding of infection control practices and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental care. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and medical documentation processes is advantageous. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
