Cleveland Family Dentistry is looking for an eager to learn, patient focused, detail oriented, and licensed Dental Assistant. Our current opening is for a full-time position working 32 hours (4 days) per week. We are a privately owned general dental practice, run by our primary dentist, Dr. Stephens. Our office is focused intently on providing exceptional care through a great patient experience. We provide a wide range of dental services including cosmetic, implants, restorative, and reconstructive dentistry. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients and teammates. It also requires excellent time management and organizational skills. This position will be required to uphold our standards regarding patient’s experience and always ensure the highest level of customer service. Applicant must have a strong work ethic as well as an outgoing personality and positive attitude. Work experience in a general dental office is preferred, but not required. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Escort Patients to operatories and answer any general questions or forward Patient questions or concerns to Practice Dentist when necessary. Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for dentist’s access. Actively provide suctioning and hand instruments to Dentist, as needed, during exams and procedures in order to help maintain patient comfort and Dentist’s efficiency. Selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth, as needed. Fabricate temporary crowns that satisfy office standards for appearance and quality. Taking and displaying radiographic studies for diagnostic purposes. Pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts to lab and office standards. Fabricate temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. Delivery and monitoring of Nitrous Oxide. Manage asepsis, infection, using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards. Helping to maintain dental and sterilization equipment, and overall cleanliness of the office. Assist with scheduling patients for procedures when needed. Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner. Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies. Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
