Qualifications Required: A relentlessly positive and friendly attitude Interest and proficiency in working with your hands on small detail-oriented tasks Great manual dexterity Excellent communication skills, including proper grammar Desire to see and bring out the best in those around you Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused on meaningful tasks Ability to work efficiently and manage time well Proactive nature Acts with initiative Eagerness to learn new skills High school diploma or equivalent Experience Preferred: Experience as an orthodontic assistant Radiology license preferred but not required to start Additional certification/licenses will be considered in hiring and compensation on a case by case basis Responsibilities: Above all else, provide courteous service to patients and their families, smile, greet everyone warmly, act as if each patient is a guest, and you are glad to have them in your chair. Our goal is to be the best part of each patient's day. Preparation for patient appointments including: - Instrument sterilization - Preparing proper instrument set-ups for various procedures - Disinfecting chair and operatory after patient appointment Direct patient care, including: - Reading and interpreting chart notes to understand intentions and plans - Seating patients and assessing situations, learning about and communicating patient concerns to doctors - Placing and removing wires, elastic ligatures, steel ties - Taking alginate impressions, pouring models - Fabricating clear retainers - Intraoral scanning using iTero scanner - Intraoral and extraoral photography, uploading photos into software - Exposing panoramic and cephalometric X-rays (with a license) - Fitting orthodontic bands - Isolation procedures for bonding - Assisting doctor with bracket placement - Demonstrating proper elastic wear patterns and patient learning how to place elastics - Patient education on appliance care - Taking accurate and complete treatment notes Miscellaneous Tasks: Effective time management during appointments Answering the phone and accurately addressing most patient concerns (which may include scheduling appointments, establishing new patients charts, answering questions about appliances, etc) Assisting with end-of-day duties Comprehensive office cleaning (including windows, floors, counters, bathrooms, break room, lab, etc) Promoting the practice by demonstrating a positive attitude towards teammates and patients/families, building connections with patients, instilling confidence in our patients that they have made an excellent choice to have treatment with us Representing the office favorably in public and/or on social media Participating in occasional marketing events, which may be on weeknights or weekends Encouraging patients to leave favorable reviews Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Paid time off Work Location: In person
