Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Grayling, MI

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and medical documentation accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft. Manage dental records and ensure proper medical coding for billing purposes. Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary and assist in prosthodontics and endodontics procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards. Experience with EMR systems such as , or Eaglesoft is preferred. Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate medical records. Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is an advantage. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
