Dentist Location: Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center, Indian Health Service Sisseton Service Unit, 100 Lake Traverse Drive, Sisseton, SD 57262 Shift: Mondays to Fridays 8:00 AM 4:30 PM No weekends or Federal Holidays Contract Length: 1 Year (09/01/2026 08/31/2027) Plus four (4) option years Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Estimated Start Date: Pending Award and Completion of Credentialing Process Compensation Regular Pay Rate: $110/hr Travel weekly stipends: $1,246/week Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis. Job Description The Dentist provides comprehensive dental care for patients receiving services through the Indian Health Service. Duties include examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, extractions, preventive care, patient education, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with IHS standards. Requirements DDS or DMD degree from an ADA/CODA accredited institution National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) completed Current unrestricted Dental License in any U.S. State or Territory Current unrestricted DEA Registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Completion of a residency program OR at least one year of recent professional dental experience within the last 24 months Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background investigation requirements Letter of Intent committing to one year preferred Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental examinations Diagnose oral diseases and develop treatment plans Perform restorative and preventive dental procedures Perform extractions and emergency dental care Educate patients on oral health Maintain complete and accurate medical records Follow IHS clinical guidelines and infection control standards
