Dental Front Desk Receptionist/Insurance Coordinator - Tuscarora Family Dental Care - Martinsburg, WV

Then you may be the right fit for us and our amazing office. Tuscarora Family Dental is looking for an experienced Dental Receptionist/Insurance Coordinator to own that process. We are a modern, privately owned, fee-for-service dental practice. While we are not in-network with most plans, we submit out-of-network claims as a courtesy to our patients. That means this role is a major part of our patient experience, our collections, and the confidence our team has in every financial conversation. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with strong, hands-on dental insurance experience who can work independently, stay organized, and follow claims through to resolution. What You’ll Be Responsible For Verify and document out-of-network dental benefits before patient appointments Clearly communicate estimated insurance benefits and patient responsibility Submit accurate dental claims, including narratives, radiographs, perio charting, and other required attachments Follow up on outstanding, delayed, denied, and underpaid claims Post insurance payments and EOBs accurately Work insurance aging reports and keep follow-up notes current Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve claim issues and payment discrepancies Help patients understand their insurance benefits, claims, EOBs, and financial responsibility Coordinate with the doctor, clinical team, and front office so financial information is accurate and consistent Assist with phones and front-office support Assist with scheduling Assist with check out and payment reconciliation Help improve systems that reduce preventable denials and keep claims moving You’re a Great Fit If You Have At least 3 years of direct dental insurance and billing experience Solid experience handling out-of-network dental claims from start to finish Experience verifying benefits, submitting claims, posting EOBs, working aging, and resolving denials A working knowledge of deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, limitations, waiting periods, downgrades, exclusions, and coordination of benefits Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized without constant supervision The confidence to communicate professionally with patients, team members, and insurance carriers A positive attitude, dependable attendance, and a team-player mindset Experience with Open Dental is a plus Candidates without substantial dental insurance experience will not be considered.
