Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Orlando Area | Oakland, Florida Vision Dental Partners is expanding into the Orlando area, and we are hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant for our Oakland, Florida practice. We already have a great doctor in place and are looking for a dependable, experienced dental assistant who takes pride in patient care, enjoys working as part of a clinical team, and wants to help build and grow a successful practice. Compensation and Benefits Starting at $36 per hour Health, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with employer match Vacation PTO & Paid holidays Internal employee dental plan Uniform allowance Continuing education and professional development support Main Duties and Responsibilities As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the doctor, maintaining an efficient clinical schedule, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Responsibilities include: Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment rooms to provide a safe and welcoming environment Escort patients to treatment rooms and explain procedures as appropriate Assist the dentist during restorative, surgical, and other clinical procedures Perform approved expanded-function duties based on certification and Florida requirements Place, finish, and polish restorations as permitted Take diagnostic dental radiographs Take impressions, scans, and other clinical records as needed Prepare and sterilize instruments, handpieces, and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records Coordinate and track laboratory cases to support timely delivery Review post-treatment instructions with patients Educate patients regarding oral hygiene and recommended care Maintain appropriate levels of clinical supplies and notify the team when items need to be ordered Help maintain an efficient schedule and support smooth patient flow Assist with other clinical or administrative responsibilities as needed This Position Is a Good Fit for Someone Who Is highly reliable and takes ownership of their responsibilities Brings positive energy, professionalism, and a strong work ethic to the practice Works efficiently without sacrificing patient care or clinical quality Communicates well with patients, the doctor, and other team members Anticipates the doctor’s needs and helps procedures run smoothly Understands the importance of schedule efficiency, productivity, and practice growth Recognizes that providing an excellent patient experience contributes directly to patient retention and practice success Is comfortable joining a growing practice and helping build strong clinical systems and routines Wants to work with a great doctor and be part of a supportive, growing organization Qualifications Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification, or ability to obtain required credentials Dental radiography certification Previous dental assisting experience required Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and infection-control standards Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions Professional, dependable, and patient-focused Strong interpersonal and communication skills Apply today to learn more about this Expanded Functions Dental Assistant opportunity in the Orlando area.
