Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice for optimal dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments with precision and professionalism. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems efficiently to document patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. Monitor patient vital signs and assess oral health status to identify potential issues requiring further attention. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Requirements Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license Prior experience in dental hygiene or related healthcare fields is preferred; critical care experience is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) systems for accurate documentation. Experience with diagnostic radiology techniques specific to dental imaging. Ability to handle manual tasks such as instrument sterilization, patient positioning, and equipment handling safely and effectively.
