Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Westerville, OH
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The Dental Assistant supports the dentist during patient care, helps create a positive patient experience, and ensures the treatment area is clean, safe, and prepared. Key Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols. Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations. Prepare dental materials and instruments for procedures. Record patient medical histories, treatment notes, and clinical information accurately. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment recommendations. Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures. Schedule appointments and assist with front office duties as needed. Monitor inventory and restock dental supplies. Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards. Perform chairside assisting for restorative, preventive, and surgical procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is required. Proficiency in using EMR systems. Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is highly valued. Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not mandatory. Competence in operating dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners is preferred. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise ensures compliance with industry standards.
