*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during specialized TMJ, craniofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine procedures (including appliance deliveries, adjustments, and impressions). Prepare and maintain treatment areas with necessary diagnostic tools and specialized instruments. Record vital signs, airway assessments, and detailed patient medical histories. Perform medical and dental coding for insurance purposes, including medical cross-billing for TMJ treatments. Educate patients on TMJ home-care protocols, physical therapy exercises, and appliance maintenance. Maintain clinical cleanliness, organization, and instrument sterilization. Utilize software systems (such as Epic and Eaglesoft) for patient management and progress tracking. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental or Medical Assistant, ideally in a TMJ, oral surgery, or pain management setting. Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with dental/medical software, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and digital workflows is a plus. Experience with iTero scanners is a plus; willingness to train on CBCT imaging for future deployment. Strong understanding of vital signs and medical cross-billing/coding practices for TMJ disorders. Excellent communication skills with the empathy and patience required for chronic pain patients. Highly detail-oriented and organized to manage comprehensive diagnostic data efficiently.
