Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Perform dental radiography and assist with medical imaging as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support the dental receptionist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Provide compassionate care to patients, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards is essential. Proficiency in medical documentation systems related to dental practices. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
