Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) utilizing dental imaging equipment while maintaining proper infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Adhere strictly to infection prevention management standards, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest safety standards. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Support patient care by providing compassionate communication, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with dental equipment operation including x-ray machines, sterilization tools, and other clinical devices. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques with a focus on patient comfort and safety during procedures. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and recognize signs requiring medical attention or intervention. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively care for pediatric patients in a friendly manner. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients about dental care options clearly and confidently. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols aligned with industry standards. Familiarity with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary within the scope of dental practice management.
