Our Full time dental assistant is going back to School to become a hygienist! We're happy for her but we need someone else to replace her part-time. This is a learning opportunity. Do you want to get into the dental field? We will train you to become a dental assistant. As you learn, you will have the opportunity to make more money and become a full-time employee. We are looking for a motivated, energetic person that can think critically. What does that mean? To be familiar with the techniques used in dentistry. To be familiar with the instruments of dentistry; to anticipate what is needed for an appointment and to anticipate what will be needed shortly. This is true in medical, dental, surgical. We will teach you these skills. Initially you will be trained in safety; standards of OSHA, disinfection, sterilization. Then you will learn the basic setups of dental instrumentations, and chairside assisting. You will be trained in taking Xrays. As you gain experience, you will begin doing basic chairside procedures such as delivering nightquards, intra-oral scanning, making provisional crowns, etc. Do you need a dental assisting degree? No. Do you need to have an interest in dentistry? absolutely. This is a cool field with a high need for good employees. About us. We're in Gunbarrel. We're a small friendly office, not corporate.
