Our high-tech pediatric dental practice in Basking Ridge is looking for a full-time Dental Hygiene Assistant and Sterilization Technician. This position supports the doctor, dental assistant, and hygienist by cleaning and sterilizing all instruments and equipment to be used in dental procedures, along with any instruments laid out for possible use. The person in this role may also help the dental assistant by setting up and providing instruments prior to or during procedures. They may also be asked to work chairside with the doctor at times. The Dental Hygiene & Sterilization Assistant will be essential in making sure families feel safe and receive the best possible care as we provide an incredible dental experience! We are looking for a cheerful, responsible, and self-motivated team player who is excited to learn new things. The candidate must have a very friendly demeanor and be energetic. An x-ray license would be a great bonus. If you're interested in becoming x-ray certified, we will cover all course and exam expenses. Schedule Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM One Saturday per month, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, excluding summer months Job Responsibilities Collect, sterilize, prepare, and organize dental instruments for use in procedures Clean and set up each treatment room for the next patient Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep accurate upkeep records Maintain a sterile, clean, and welcoming office environment Bring patients to and from treatment rooms and help them select their prize at the end of their visit Occasionally sit with younger children in the waiting area while the doctor reviews a treatment plan with a parent Assist with computerized patient charting as needed Assist chairside with the doctor or hygienist on occasion Interact with children and parents in a caring and thoughtful manner Take dental radiographs on patients if able, current NJ Dental X-Ray License preferred but not required Assist with inventory management and supply organization, including monitoring stock levels and communicating when items need to be reordered Help receive, verify, and store incoming supply shipments in an organized and timely manner Follow all OSHA standards for instrument handling, equipment safety, and hazardous waste Check Out Our Socials to Get to Know Us Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/smileworkspediatricdentistry/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SmileWorksPediatricDentistry/ Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Uniform allowance Ability to Commute: Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 (Required) Work Location: In person
