DENTAL ASSISTANT Job Description We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated Dental Assistant to join our highly regarded private practice in Locust Valley, NY. You will assist our dentist during treatments through 4-handed dentistry and be part of a team that strives to consistently deliver the perfect patient experience and highest quality care. You will play an essential role in patient comfort and satisfaction while lifting administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Responsibilities Preparing Operatories - selecting and setting up instruments, equipment and materials needed; keeping operatories clean and well stocked Practicing Infection Control - sterilizing instruments according to regulations Patient Management - escorting patients to and from operatories and preparing them for treatments or check ups; answering patient questions and explaining what to expect Chairside Assisting - passing instruments and preparing materials as the clinician works; providing emotional support to patients Managing Documentation - taking real-time notes as the dentist examines a patient's teeth and describes their findings Overseeing Aftercare - providing oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions to patients Additional Duties - Ordering clinical supplies. Performing lab tasks and minor procedures under supervision as required. Assisting with other clinical and administrative duties as needed to support patient care and the daily operation of the practice Skills Proven experience as Dental Assistant Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Experience using iTero for restorative and Invisalign treatments Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized Strong computer skills Knowledge of Eaglesoft a plus Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance are essential to the successful performance of this role. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma. Dental Assistant school graduate is preferred. Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA). Schedule Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break) One Saturday per month 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM Pay: $30.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
