Pediatric Dental Assistant Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, creates a positive and welcoming environment for patients and families, and is committed to delivering exceptional clinical care. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for patient care. Assist the pediatric dentist during examinations, restorative procedures, extractions, crowns, sealants, and other dental treatments. Comfort and engage children of all ages to help reduce anxiety and create a positive dental experience. Take and process dental radiographs following safety guidelines. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions. Maintain accurate patient records and chart clinical notes. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and infection control protocols. Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies as needed. Support the front office when necessary with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative tasks. Work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure an outstanding patient experience. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Current Dental Assistant certification or registration as required by state regulations. Current CPR/BLS certification. Experience assisting in a dental practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Pediatric dental experience. Coronal polishing and sealant certification (if permitted by state regulations). Nitrous oxide monitoring certification is a plus Experience with Dentrix or Denticon. Spanish-speaking abilities are a plus.
