Lead Dental Assistant - Fair Lakes Family Dentistry - Cypress, TX

Position Summary Fair Lakes Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced, motivated, and patient-focused Lead Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who excels in clinical excellence, team development, patient care, and operational efficiency. This individual will lead the dental assisting team while ensuring exceptional patient experiences and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical support. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Lead, mentor, and support the dental assisting team. Ensure assistants follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of restorative, surgical, and cosmetic procedures. Maintain treatment rooms for optimal efficiency and organization. Monitor inventory and coordinate ordering of dental supplies and equipment. Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment. Team Development Train and onboard new dental assistants. Conduct regular coaching and performance feedback. Create daily assistant schedules and coordinate clinical workflow. Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture. Patient Care Deliver exceptional customer service with compassion and professionalism. Educate patients on treatment plans and post-operative care. Ensure patient comfort throughout appointments. Support efficient patient flow while maintaining quality care. Administrative Support Collaborate with the front office to optimize scheduling. Assist with clinical documentation and charting. Maintain compliance with practice policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. QualificationsRequired Minimum 3–5 years of dental assisting experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Current Dental Assistant certification (as required by state law). Current CPR certification. Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records. Preferred Experience with Invisalign, implants, and same-day dentistry. Familiarity with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software.
