Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Independence, MO

Pediatric surgical dental assistant The role You will assist a pediatric dentist during larger dental surgical cases in a new ambulatory surgery center, working in an operating room setting. This is chairside surgical assisting: setup, instrument handling, monitoring, and recovery. You work directly with the dentist on every case. Patients are sedated, so the work is focused on the case and the surgical field, not behavior management. We serve Medicaid patients and the underserved. That is the point of this practice, and it is not a side mission. If that work does not motivate you, this is not your job. The facility itself is new and high-quality, and we hold to that standard on every case. The pace is fast. This is a busy, high-volume surgery center. What you will do Set up the room and instruments before each case. Assist the dentist chairside throughout the procedure. Monitor patients during and after treatment. Handle recovery and discharge. You will not do sterilization or room cleaning. Separate sterile technicians handle that. Your job is to assist and serve the patient. What you need Dental experience. You do not need operating room experience for this role. You need to enjoy this work and be comfortable in a surgical setting once trained. What we train The surgery center environment, intraoperative monitoring, scrub and instrument handling for our cases, and our recovery and discharge process. Schedule and setting Full-time, on-site. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to roughly 3:00 p.m. No call. This position starts late October or early November. You report directly to the pediatric dentist.
