Experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) | Fair Oaks, CA | $27 to $29/hr Madison Family Dental Group Fair Oaks, California Pay: $27 to $29 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Three days per week initially, with the opportunity to increase to four days per week as the practice continues to grow Job Type: Part time with growth potential About the Position Madison Family Dental Group is looking for an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Registered Dental Assistant to join our general dental practice. This is not an entry-level training position. We need an RDA who already understands the fundamentals of general dentistry, can work independently, anticipates the doctor’s needs, and confidently manages the clinical flow of the day. The right candidate takes ownership, notices what needs to be done, and follows through without waiting to be directed. We value team members who bring solutions, recommend better workflows, and help the entire clinical team operate more efficiently. Key Responsibilities Provide experienced chairside assistance during general and restorative dental procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures Anticipate the doctor’s needs and maintain an efficient clinical workflow Take diagnostic quality digital radiographs within the permitted scope of an RDA Take digital impressions or intraoral scans when needed Assist with crowns, bridges, fillings, extractions, root canal procedures, implant procedures, cosmetic dentistry, and other general dental treatments Accurately document treatment, clinical notes, materials, and patient information in the practice management system Review treatment and post-operative instructions with patients as directed by the doctor Maintain sterilization procedures and infection control standards Complete room turnover efficiently while keeping the schedule moving Monitor clinical supplies, organize inventory, and communicate ordering needs before supplies run low Track laboratory cases and confirm they are ready before scheduled appointments Help identify workflow problems and recommend practical solutions Support other clinical team members when needed and contribute to a respectful, accountable team environment Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, Dental Board of California, and office safety requirements Required Qualifications Active California Registered Dental Assistant license in good standing Current CPR or BLS certification All certifications and coursework required to perform RDA duties in California Recent hands-on experience in a general dental practice Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, materials, sterilization, and infection control Ability to work independently without needing basic dental assisting instruction Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to stay composed and productive in a busy clinical environment Professional communication skills and a patient-focused approach Dependable attendance and consistent follow-through Ability to accept feedback, communicate concerns professionally, and work collaboratively with the doctor and team Invisalign Experience Invisalign experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with Invisalign experience should describe their involvement with areas such as: Digital scanning and Invisalign records Intraoral and extraoral photographs Assisting with Invisalign case preparation Attachment appointments and clinical assistance within the RDA’s permitted scope Patient education regarding aligner wear and care Progress appointments and refinement records Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal RDA is proactive, self-sufficient, and confident in their abilities.
