Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team in our Murrysville and Greensburg offices. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. If you have experience in dental receptionist duties, pediatric dentistry, and possess strong skills in infection control and medical imaging, we encourage you to apply. Duties: - Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including taking dental impressions, placing brackets and wires, and adjusting appliances - Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols - Take dental x-rays and other medical imaging as directed by the orthodontist - Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and updating medical histories - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-treatment care instructions - Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations - Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow - Provide support to the front desk team as needed Skills: - Experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar administrative role is preferred - Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus - Proficiency in Dolphin or similar dental software is highly desirable - Strong understanding of infection control protocols and practices - Familiarity with medical terminology related to orthodontics - Ability to perform medical imaging procedures, such as taking dental x-rays - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills - Ability to work well in a team environment We are hiring for a part-time position with competitive pay.
