Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and reporting on patient conditions to the dentist or relevant healthcare providers. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to enhance long-term dental health. Assist with dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and other restorative treatments by preparing the treatment area and managing necessary instruments. Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and medical terminology. Take diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining manual handling standards. Support emergency response efforts by applying basic life support (BLS) techniques like CPR when needed during patient care. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless clinic operations and uphold high standards of patient service and safety. Skills Proven experience in clinical dental hygiene or related healthcare settings with a focus on patient service excellence. Strong knowledge of medical documentation, medical terminology, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management). Critical care experience and acute care background are highly desirable for handling complex cases effectively. Skilled in blood sampling, diagnostic radiology, and understanding of plastic surgery or surgical procedures relevant to dental care. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients clearly and compassionately about their oral health needs. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining high standards of infection control and safety protocols. Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications in medical or nursing fields are advantageous. Experience with EMR/EHR systems, blood sampling techniques, and reporting on patient conditions ensures thorough documentation and continuity of care.
