Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with clinical procedures, and providing education to patients of all ages. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and medical imaging results to identify oral health issues. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs to ensure patient safety throughout dental procedures. Support the dental team by managing medical records, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems efficiently. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with state-specific certification requirements fulfilled. Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental assisting and chairside support. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
