Responsibilities - Clean teeth, gums, and the inside of the mouth using a variety of techniques and instruments. - Conduct routine oral health assessments, including vital signs and dental exams. - Provide patients with personalized oral hygiene instructions and recommendations for home care. - Use aseptic technique to perform procedures, such as scaling and polishing teeth. - Utilize electronic health records and dental software. - Document patient information, medical history, and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly, adhering to medical documentation standards. - Work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans. - Participate in continuing education and stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene and general dentistry. - Assist with pediatric patients, providing gentle and reassuring care. - Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to OSHA guidelines and following proper infection control procedures. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to patient care. Qualifications - Current licensure to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state where the position is located. - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. - Strong understanding of dental terminology and medical terminology. - Experience working in general or pediatric dentistry and with electronic dental systems. - Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Commitment to providing patient-centered care and adhering to high standards of professionalism and ethics.
