Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Setting up dental instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various dental treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate medical documentation. Provide pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients, explaining procedures clearly and addressing concerns with professionalism. Report patient conditions accurately to the dental team, including any changes or concerns observed during appointments. Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards, including manual handling of sterilization processes and clinical waste disposal. Support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and communicating effectively with clients about treatment plans. Assist in health education efforts by providing patients with oral hygiene instructions and preventive care advice. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within a dental or medical setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and diagnostic radiology techniques. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) management systems and medical documentation practices. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, manual handling procedures, and sterilization techniques. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
