Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of dental hygiene. As a Dental Hygienist, you will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to deliver comprehensive oral health services, educate patients on proper dental care, and assist in maintaining a welcoming and efficient clinic environment. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages. Assess patients' oral health and provide preventive care, including fluoride treatments and sealants. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Assist in the management of patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care and comfort during procedures. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and work areas. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Skills Proficient in dental terminology and procedures related to oral health care. Experience with dental assisting in a clinical setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical coding for insurance purposes is a plus. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for working with younger patients. Strong understanding of four-handed dentistry techniques to assist dentists effectively. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and team members. Familiarity with medical terminology related to dental health.
