Expanded Duties Dental Assistant – Accelerated Hygiene Pay: $25.00 per hour Position Type: Full-time Location: Downtown Dentistry, Paris, Kentucky Position Overview Downtown Dentistry is seeking an experienced and dependable Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to work primarily within our accelerated hygiene program. This position will support our dental hygienists by helping manage patient flow, preparing patients for treatment, completing permitted clinical duties, and ensuring that each hygiene appointment runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience. Required Qualifications Applicants must have: A current Expanded Duties Dental Assistant certificate A current Coronal Polishing certificate Current CPR/BLS certification Dental assisting experience Knowledge of infection-control and sterilization procedures Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills The ability to work efficiently while maintaining a warm and professional approach with patients Primary Responsibilities Assist dental hygienists in an accelerated hygiene schedule Seat patients and prepare treatment rooms Review and update patient information, medical histories, and necessary documentation Take dental radiographs when properly certified and authorized Perform coronal polishing and other expanded duties permitted by the dentist and applicable Kentucky regulations Assist with periodontal charting and clinical documentation as directed Prepare materials, instruments, and supplies for hygiene appointments Provide patients with post-treatment instructions and oral-health information as directed Turn over and disinfect treatment rooms between patients Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control procedures Help keep the hygiene schedule running efficiently and on time Communicate effectively with hygienists, dentists, front-office team members, and patients Assist in other clinical areas when needed Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be: Comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented dental practice Skilled at anticipating the needs of the hygienist and patient Positive, dependable, and professional Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple responsibilities Compassionate and focused on patient comfort Punctual and committed to maintaining a consistent work schedule Compensation and Benefits $25.00 per hour 72 hours of paid time off Health insurance Retirement account Uniforms provided Employee dental benefits Bonus opportunities How to Apply Please submit your résumé and a brief description of your dental assisting experience.
