Responsibilities Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation, ensuring accurate and thorough records. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in compliance with infection control protocols. Support dentists during procedures such as prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring all medical and dental documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and insurance processing to optimize clinic workflow. Facilitate communication between patients and the dental team by providing clear explanations of procedures and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to all safety standards related to medical coding, medical records management, and dental assisting practices. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental office environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and HIPAA compliance standards. Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs measurement and medical history review. Experience supporting various dental specialties including prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics is preferred. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Certification or experience in dental assisting is highly desirable; familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Knowledge of dental receptionist duties including appointment scheduling and insurance verification is advantageous.
