Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. We have a brand new state of the art dental office and technology like Itero scanner, 3D printing and CBCT imaging. We are a multispecialty practice, with providers performing general and esthetic dentistry, periodontics, endodontics and oral surgery procedures. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Conduct preliminary examinations by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients. Assist with dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and general dentistry. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners, Itero scanner and CBCT for imaging purposes. Skills Familiarity with dental coding, imaging, and terminology is advantageous. Experience in general dentistry is a plus; knowledge of infection control practices is essential. Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively during procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting with attention to detail while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages and their families. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable; familiarity with vital signs monitoring is beneficial.
