About the Role We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant with a minimum of two years of hands-on chairside experience in general dentistry and strong four-handed dentistry skills. This is not an entry-level or observational assisting position. You will work closely with the doctor to anticipate clinical needs, maintain an efficient schedule, and ensure every patient feels calm, informed, and genuinely cared for. The right candidate is clinically capable, highly organized, proactive, and confident working in a busy practice without requiring constant direction. Key Responsibilities Chairside and Clinical Assisting Provide confident and efficient four-handed chairside assistance during general, restorative, cosmetic, and whitening procedures Anticipate the doctorâs needs and have instruments and materials ready before they are requested Prepare operatories completely and accurately before each procedure Break down and turn over operatories efficiently between patients Ensure instruments, materials, laboratory cases, and technology are prepared in advance Support accurate clinical charting and documentation Maintain strict sterilization, infection-control, and operatory-cleanliness protocols Patient Experience Prepare patients for procedures and explain what they can expect within the scope of the role Help create a calm, polished, and reassuring experience Monitor patient comfort and anticipate patient needs throughout treatment Support whitening patients before, during, and after treatment Communicate professionally and compassionately at every stage of the visit Clinical Flow and Team Coordination Work closely with the doctor, front desk, and clinical team to maintain an efficient schedule Review the clinical schedule in advance and prepare for upcoming procedures Minimize provider downtime by anticipating clinical and operational needs Communicate delays, missing information, or supply concerns before they disrupt patient care Step in where needed to support the overall flow of the practice Help maintain organized operatories, sterilization areas, and clinical inventory Technology and Systems Experience with the following is strongly preferred: Open Dental iTero CEREC Candidates should be comfortable learning and consistently following established clinical systems and workflows. Required Qualifications Minimum of two years of hands-on dental assisting experience in a general dentistry practice Strong proficiency in four-handed dentistry Experience assisting with restorative and general dental procedures Experience supporting and managing patients during professional whitening treatments Strong knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures Ability to prepare for procedures independently and anticipate provider needs Ability to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional communication skills and a patient-centered approach Candidates without at least two years of hands-on general dental assisting and four-handed dentistry experience will not be considered for this position. The specific schedule will be discussed based on the needs of the practice and the candidateâs availability. There may be an opportunity to grow into a full-time position for the right candidate.
