Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments to ensure smooth operations Review patient medical histories and update dental records accurately in compliance with privacy regulations Provide postoperative instructions and answer patient questions to promote ongoing oral health Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental instruments are properly sanitized and prepared for use Skills Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state or regional regulations Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, infection control procedures, and radiography techniques Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and engage with diverse patient populations Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for managing patient records and clinical tasks Passionate about promoting oral health education and preventive care strategies Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or patient needs while maintaining high standards of care Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly contribute to healthier smiles!
