Job Summary WE ARE OFFERING A ONE DAY A WEEK PART TIME HYGIENE POSITION- FLEXIBLE ON THE DAY TO BE DETERMINED (MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY) We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments to promote oral health. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while ensuring proper infection prevention management. Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene techniques, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term health habits. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), document treatment plans, and review medical records for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection prevention protocols are strictly followed by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining dental equipment sanitation standards. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as OPEN DENTAL, Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and providing care tailored to pediatric patients. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments, managing patient comfort, and supporting the dentist during procedures. Ability to perform dental imaging accurately while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient care, education, and building trust. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices specific to dental settings and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
