Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team at Blue Sky Dental. The office is owned and operated by the dentist, not a corporate job. We're a fully digital Family Dentistry office offering full scope dentistry, from restorative, oral surgery, implant dentistry, invisalign, etc. A little gem in Farmington Valley. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through chairside assisting techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use. Take and processes dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using Dentrix, ensuring accurate medical documentation and medical coding. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a supportive environment for pediatric dentistry. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy and infection control practices. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure a clean and organized clinic environment. Stay current with dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting or a related role is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, oral surgery, implant dentistry being advantageous. Proficient in using Dentrix. Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is essential for maintaining patient safety. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
