Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Bloomington, IL

Our growing, privately-owned practice is looking for a full or part-time (3-5 days/week) dental assistant starting as soon as possible. The office hours (starting in early September) are M-Th 8-4 and F 8-3, excellent for work/life balance! Employees start their day approximately 15-20 minutes before opening to set up rooms and take part in the morning meeting. Experience in a dental office is preferred but not required. Applicants with dental assisting experience are eligible for a higher starting wage. Primary Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for patient care. Seat patients and assist dentists chairside during restorative and other dental procedures. Obtain diagnostic-quality digital radiographs after appropriate training. Fabricate temporary crowns and bridges after appropriate training. Clean, disinfect and sterilize instruments and treatment areas according to current infection-control standards and office protocols. Accurately document treatment and clinical information in patient records. Provide patients with oral-hygiene and postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist. Monitor clinical supplies and assist with inventory and ordering as assigned. Support other clinical team members, including the hygiene department, when needed. Provide occasional front-desk support, which may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in or out and assisting with other basic administrative duties. Qualifications Dependable, punctual and able to work the agreed-upon schedule. Friendly and professional when communicating with patients and coworkers. Able to remain organized while working in an active clinical environment. Willing to learn, accept feedback and assist coworkers when needed. Previous dental-assisting experience is preferred but not required. Experience with digital radiography, temporary restorations, intraoral scanning or dental practice-management software is a plus. Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain certification.
