Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Houston, TX

Job Summary Lakewood Dentistry is looking to grow our incredible clinical team. We are seeking a dedicated, dependable, and enthusiastic Registered Dental Assistant. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is extremely important that candidate has experience with Packing Cords, Taking Impressions, and Making Temporaries. Other job responsibilities include preparing and cleaning treatment rooms; providing personalized service by escorting the patients to the back and returning them to check-out; sterilizing instruments; stocking operatories; updating patient records; assisting; suctioning; and taking x-rays. Dentrix experience is preferred. Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus. Pay range is between $20 to $25 an hour depending on experience and capability. Average work week is 32 hours a week. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials. Take and develop X-rays as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Record and update medical documentation accurately in patient files. Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and sterilization areas. Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency during treatments. Skills Minimum 3 years of hands on experience Proficient understanding of dental terminology, systems, and HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques. Familiarity with X-ray procedures and safety measures. Packing Cords Strong skills in four-handed dentistry techniques. Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
