Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), utilizing digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, materials, and supplies during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, appointment scheduling, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions with clear communication tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Laboratory duties include making retainers, bleach trays and crowns with in office milling units Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation. Familiarity with dental software Dentrix Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety standards; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are beneficial.
