The front desk isn't the desk in front. It's the first voice a nervous patient hears, the last face they see, and the single biggest reason they come back — or don't. We're adding to our front desk team as we grow into a two-doctor schedule. This isn't a "check them in, hand them a clipboard" job. The person in this seat protects the schedule , owns the patient relationship , and directly shapes whether someone accepts the care they actually need. If that sounds like pressure, it is. If it sounds like the most interesting job in the office, keep reading. What "Love Dental" Actually Means "Love" isn't decoration on the sign out front. It's the standard we hold ourselves to every single day: Love our patients — we have empathy for every person who walks in, and we do everything in our control to make their visit something they'd actually recommend to a friend. Love our coworkers — we look out for each other, jump in before we're asked, and communicate with compassion. No negative talk, no leaving teammates hanging. Love our work — we do things the right way for the right reasons, and we're never "stuck" doing it a certain way just because it's comfortable. Better way? We find it. We'll a small privately owned office, we can do whatever we want whenever we want as long as its the right way. No stuck waiting for corporate approvals. Love ourselves enough to bring our best version to work — positive attitude, YES WE CAN energy, personal stress left at the door. Love our growth — we improve 1% every day. We read, we learn, we apply, and we don't repeat the same mistakes. We look forward, not backward. We always want to get better. Love our adaptability — new systems, new challenges, tasks outside the job description? We adapt and figure it out instead of throwing our hands up. If you read that and thought "that's how I already work" — we should talk. What You'll Own The schedule — this is the heart of the job. A full schedule doesn't happen by itself, and it doesn't happen by luck. It happens because someone cares enough to work the problem. When there's an opening, you go get it filled — the ASAP list, unscheduled treatment, family members who are due, recall, text, email, the phone. Some days that's easy. The days it isn't are the ones we'll remember you for, and you won't be doing it alone. You'll be provided the resources, its up to you to maximize them. The first impression. Greeting, phones, and check-in done in a way that makes an anxious patient exhale. For a lot of people, walking into a dental office is the hardest part of their week. You're the reason it gets easier. Pre-appointing and recall. Every patient leaves with their next visit on the books, and the ones who drift away get a call from someone who noticed. That's you. It's a big part of how patients here become patients for years. Financial conversations. Presenting treatment plans clearly, verifying insurance, and explaining benefits in plain English so nobody feels lost or embarrassed. Money talk doesn't have to be awkward when it's done with care. Follow-through. Unscheduled treatment, calls to return, forms to chase down. You're the person who remembers, so patients don't fall through the cracks. Setting up the next person to succeed. We leave things better than we found them here — for the next shift, for the assistants, for whoever picks it up after us. What You Bring Resourcefulness. When there's a hole in the schedule, you're the kind of person who starts working it with whatever's in front of you rather than waiting to be told. If we had to name the one thing that makes someone great in this seat, it's this. Front desk experience in a dental office. Open Dental experience is a big plus — and if you've run a different system well, we'll happily teach you ours. We chose Open Dental because its the easiest and most intuitive dental software out there. Comfort talking about money — clearly, warmly, and without apologizing for the value of good care. Patients relax when the person explaining it is relaxed. A working knowledge of dental insurance, benefits, and verification — or a real appetite to learn it quickly. We'll help. A growth mindset. "I don't know that yet, but I want to learn" is one of our favorite sentences around here. We don't mind mistakes, as long as we're learning from them. We are always looking forward to how we can do it better, instead of looking back at why we didn't do it so well before. Genuine warmth , on the phone and in person. Patients can hear a smile, and ours notice. Organization when it gets busy. Three things happening at once and nothing gets dropped — and when something does, you say so and fix it. An understanding of people. Most of what happens at the front desk is human, not administrative. The Details Pay: $20–$26/hr. Where you start depends on what you walk in with. $26 is for someone who already runs Open Dental confidently, verifies insurance without hand-holding, and can present treatment and collect at time of service. If you're strong on people but newer on the systems side, you start closer to $20 — and we'll tell you exactly what gets you to the top of the range, usually within 6–9 months. Daily Bonuses: Daily team production bonus of up to $45/day cash! Team Goal Bonus — we win together: When the practice hits its monthly collection goals, the whole team shares in the win as a percentage of what we produce together. The higher we climb, the more there is to share — and because it's a percentage of collection, the payout keeps growing as the team performs. The better we do, the bigger everyone's slice. You share directly in the results of work you helped create. Schedule: Four days a week — Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an hour for lunch. Patient clinic hours are 8:00–5:00; we start together with a morning huddle so everyone walks into the day knowing the plan, and there are days you'll be here until about 5:30 to close things out properly. Occasionally we'll swap a Monday for a Friday (7:00 AM–4:00 PM) — same four days, just shifted in case that previous Monday was a holiday. And we want to be upfront: when we bring on a second doctor, our hours will change and Friday is likely to become a regular day. We're looking for someone who's genuinely open to that when the time comes, and you'll hear about it from us long before it happens. Either way — four days, three-day weekends. Benefits: PTO, sick days, and paid holidays Continuing education and training — we invest in your growth Scrub / uniform allowance Dental coverage for you and your family Real opportunities for advancement as we grow A team that cares about you Pay relative to your value; increase your value, increase your pay. No waiting on arbitrary raises every few years Why People Stay Here Great team with a great culture. Seriously. In the subject line, put: Front Desk — [your favorite TV show] In the body, answer two things in a few sentences each: Which of our core values resonates most with you, and why. Tell us about a time you had a hole in the schedule and filled it. What did you actually do? We read every single one.
