Clinical Hygiene Assistant Position: Clinical Hygiene Assistant Employment Type: [Part-Time] Mon, Tues & Thurs Location: [Wauwatosa Dental Arts] We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Clinical Hygiene Assistant to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate has previous dental assisting experience, is highly knowledgeable in instrument sterilization and infection control , and is confident taking dental X-rays . This position supports our growing team of hygienists by helping ensure efficient, high-quality patient care while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Assist the dental hygienist during patient appointments and clinical procedures. Take high-quality digital dental X-rays . Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available. Thoroughly clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments according to office protocols and infection-control standards. Maintain sterilization areas and monitor sterilization equipment and processes. Follow OSHA, CDC, and office infection-control guidelines. Prepare and break down operatories between patients. Assist with patient seating, comfort, and clinical preparation. Keep clinical areas organized, clean, and properly stocked. Communicate professionally with patients, hygienists, dentists, and other team members. Qualifications Previous experience as a dental assistant, hygiene assistant, or similar clinical dental position . Strong experience with instrument sterilization and infection control . Experience taking dental X-rays ; required. Knowledge of proper dental office safety and infection-control procedures. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
