Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when necessary, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical histories, documenting treatment details in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and reduce anxiety. Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation with accuracy. Follow infection control protocols rigorously to prevent cross-contamination and uphold the highest standards of hygiene within the clinic. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or oral surgery but we are open to training. Proficiency with software systems like Open Dental is preferred for managing patient records efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental coding enhances your ability to document treatments accurately. Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and aseptic technique is required. Familiarity with infection control procedures, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proficiency in taking X-rays or other medical imaging are important assets. Experience working with pediatric patients or in clinics utilizing Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is advantageous.
