Monday thru Thursday 9-5 pm and the first Saturday of the month from 8 am -2:30 pm. We would entertain a part-time applicant. 3 weeks of paid time off Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric dentistry and general dental practices, with a focus on patient care, education, and infection control. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to pediatric needs. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental equipment. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with experience in pediatric or general dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Experience with dental x-ray procedures and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with infection control standards, healthcare safety protocols, and HIPAA compliance management. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments that emphasize patient care and documentation review is preferred.
