Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant with an X-ray license to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our dental practice. Your expertise in chairside assisting, dental radiography, and patient care will help ensure smooth daily workflows and a comfortable experience for every patient. Responsibilities * Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following OSHA, CDC, and infection control protocols. * Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, extractions, and preventive care using four-handed dentistry techniques. * Take high-quality digital dental X-rays, including intraoral and panoramic images, while adhering to radiation safety, sterilization, and HIPAA guidelines. * Accurately manage patient records using Open Dental, including updating clinical notes, treatment plans, medical histories, and dental documentation. * Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative instructions, and preventive care while documenting patient interactions appropriately. * Set up operatories, maintain inventory, process instruments, and assist with digital imaging using Carestream Dental technology. * Support the dental team by coordinating patient flow, assisting with appointment readiness, and collaborating with the front office to ensure efficient daily operations. Requirements * Valid X-ray license with proven experience in dental radiography and digital imaging. * Previous experience working in a general or pediatric dental practice is preferred. * Proficiency with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software for patient records and documentation. * Knowledge of dental terminology, oral anatomy, dental materials, instruments, and infection control and sterilization protocols. * Strong understanding of chairside assisting, instrument processing, digital radiography, and four-handed dentistry techniques. * Familiarity with procedures including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and preventive dental care. * Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced dental environment.
