Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice with a short commute, ideally from Rockland County NY or Bergen County NJ. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Familiarity with dental software systems and a strong understanding of dental terminology and infection control protocols are essential. The position emphasizes patient education, assessment, and maintaining a sterile environment to promote optimal oral health. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures to maintain oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and dental assessments. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Operate dental imaging equipment and ensure accurate documentation of radiographs. Manage patient records in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Support pediatric dentistry cases with specialized care tailored to childrenâs needs. Ensure all clinical areas are clean, organized, and prepared for patient appointments. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical imaging techniques. Experience or familiarity with pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and chairside assisting. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical coding, and documentation review accurately. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment and education. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical/medical coding standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and patients alike.
