Blue Jay Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a friendly, organized, and experienced Front Desk / Insurance & Billing Coordinator to join our growing pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate MUST have previous dental office experience and strong knowledge of insurance verification, dental claims submission, insurance follow-up, patient billing, and basic accounting/bookkeeping. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, professional, and enjoys working with children and families in a fast-paced pediatric dental environment. Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Patient Care Greet patients and families warmly and provide excellent customer service. Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and manage patient communications. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently. Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient records. Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments. Coordinate treatment scheduling and follow-up appointments. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding appointments, treatment, and financial responsibilities. Insurance Verification & Billing Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Accurately determine patient benefits, deductibles, copayments, limitations, and exclusions. Submit electronic and paper dental insurance claims. Review claims for accuracy and resolve rejected or denied claims. Follow up with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and unpaid balances. Post insurance payments, adjustments, and EOBs accurately. Maintain accurate insurance and patient account information. Assist with pre-authorizations and treatment estimates when needed. Identify and resolve discrepancies between insurance payments and expected reimbursement. Accounting & Financial Responsibilities Post daily patient and insurance payments. Reconcile patient accounts and insurance ledgers. Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances. Assist with daily and monthly financial reconciliation. Maintain accurate records of deposits, payments, adjustments, and refunds. Communicate professionally with families regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements. Work closely with the practice owner/manager and billing team to maintain accurate financial records. Qualifications Strong experience with dental insurance verification and claims submission required . Experience with insurance follow-up, claim denials, EOBs, and accounts receivable. Experience with dental practice management software preferred. Basic accounting/bookkeeping experience strongly preferred. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Pediatric dental experience is a plus but not required.
