Responsibilities include: Welcome and prepare patients for dental hygiene appointments Perform comprehensive oral health screenings and dental hygiene assessments Evaluate patients for signs of periodontal disease, gingivitis, and other oral health conditions Provide professional dental cleanings and appropriate preventive hygiene procedures Take and review dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations and practice protocols Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene practices Provide personalized recommendations for maintaining optimal oral health Document patient treatment, findings, and recommendations accurately in the dental practice management system Follow OSHA, CDC, and office infection control and sterilization protocols Properly sterilize and maintain dental hygiene instruments and equipment Collaborate with dentists and the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach throughout each appointment Dental Hygienist Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program Current and valid Alaska Dental Hygiene License Current CPR/BLS certification, as required Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and infection control standards Familiarity with dental practice management software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care Compassionate chairside manner and ability to build trust with patients Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative dental team Why Join River City Dental?
