Dental Sterilization Assistant - Elm Street Dental - Albany, OR

Sterilization Technician / Dental Assistant We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Sterilization Technician with Dental Assisting experience to join our dental team. This position is primarily responsible for instrument sterilization, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, stocking operatories, and providing dental assisting support as needed. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers. Perform and document required sterilizer/spore testing and routine sterilization equipment maintenance. Monitor sterilization supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Prepare and stock operatories and treatment areas for patients. Assist with cleaning and disinfecting operatories between patients. Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care and clinical procedures as needed. Assist with periodontal charting, impressions, lab work, bleaching trays, retainers, and other dental procedures as trained. Help with radiography and other clinical duties as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sterilization room, laboratory, and clinical areas. Assist with ordering and putting away dental and office supplies. Follow all OSHA, infection-control, sterilization, and office safety protocols. Assist with recall calls and other patient-related administrative tasks when needed. Provide general support to the dental team and assist with office projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous Dental Assisting experience required . Experience with dental instrument sterilization and infection-control procedures preferred. Knowledge of dental instruments and basic dental terminology. Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control. Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Comfortable assisting both dentists and hygienists when needed. Current CPR certification and/or Dental Assisting certification is a plus.
