We are searching for an efficient, technical dental assistant with orthodontic experience who is driven by helping their patients get great health outcomes. We are constantly learning and adding the best new treatments, and we want an assistant that is equally as passionate about learning new things. A true dental home for our patients, our doors have been open for over 70 consecutive years in Kansas City (since 1953). We see patients of all ages for airway-focused treatments, including clear aligner therapy (Spark), orthodontic braces, early intervention orthodontic expanders, and other growth appliances. The orthodontic assistant should be familiar with all of those treatments, as well as highly experienced with iTero and other digital scanners. What will my day look like as an Assistant? You will be assisting a dentist with over 18 years of clinical experience, and working with all of our orthodontic patients. This means from orthodontic records to inserting cases to completion of the case, you are the “go to” team member for our patients in orthodontic care. Most of the day will be spent caring for patients in orthodontic check ups, both in person and virtually, and requires a high degree of operating independently within our clinical structure. While this position is largely clinical, there are also administrative duties (including managing patient records) in order to provide the best patient care for your patients. Alongside our dentist and other team members, you will be responsible for checking in on patients via text/call, responding to patient clinical questions regarding their orthodontic treatments, scheduling patients for recall visits, maintaining orthodontic recall lists, sending necessary referrals, inputing orthodontic records digitally, and tracking lab cases. We are a holistic, biological dental office, which means we follow the latest research to provide the best, informed care that is minimally invasive for our patients. On average, our dental assistants/hygienists work for us at least 5 years, which means we are looking for team members that desire a long-term, career position. Where? The practice is in Leawood, Kansas, a suburban area of Kansas City. We have been located here for over 50 years, and have been in practice since 1953 in the KC metro. The office was fully renovated in 2021 with all new equipment, chairs, and handpieces in all operatories. What is the Patient Care Schedule? Monday: 8 AM - 5 PM, with a team meeting every Monday from 8 - 9 AM Tuesday - Wednesday: 8 AM - 4 PM Thursday: 7 AM - 3 PM Our team members are required to be there at least 20 minutes before the first patient for a team meeting, with the exception of Mondays as the meeting starts promptly at 8AM. Are there any requirements? 2 years of experience working with orthodontics (both clear aligners and braces) desired.
