Position: Dental Assistant / Registered Dental Assistant (DA/RDA) Location: San Luis Obispo, CA Pay Range: $22–$28 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and licensure Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time About Us Our growing San Luis Obispo dental practice is looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (DA/RDA) to join our team. What You'll Do Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist with a variety of general, restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures while maintaining excellent patient comfort and clinical efficiency. Digital Dentistry: Take high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral images, 3D/CBCT scans, and digital impressions/scans as needed. Open Dental: Accurately maintain patient charts, clinical information, and treatment documentation in Open Dental . Infection Control: Prepare and turn over treatment rooms and properly sterilize instruments according to infection-control standards. Patient Care: Help patients feel comfortable, answer questions within your scope, provide oral hygiene education, and review post-operative instructions. Clinical Support: Anticipate the doctor's needs and help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently and on time. Lab & Inventory: Perform basic lab duties and maintain properly stocked and organized operatories. Teamwork: Work closely with doctors, front office, and clinical team members to provide an excellent patient experience. What We're Looking For Active California Dental X-Ray Certification required Current RDA license is highly preferred , but experienced Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply Previous dental assisting experience preferred Familiarity with Open Dental is highly preferred Experience with CBCT, digital scanning, Invisalign/orthodontics, implants, or oral surgery is a plus Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and professional Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment Positive attitude and strong team mentality Someone looking for a stable, long-term position and opportunity to grow Compensation & Benefits $22–$28 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, clinical skill level, and RDA licensure.
