Job summary: Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) or Independent Practice Dental Hygienist (IPDH) Simply Smiles – Wales, Maine Simply Smiles is seeking a compassionate, dependable Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) or Independent Practice Dental Hygienist (IPDH) to join our growing team. As an independently owned dental hygiene practice, we are passionate about providing high-quality preventive dental care in a welcoming, patient-centered environment. Our hygienists have the opportunity to focus on what matters most—providing excellent care, educating patients, and building lasting relationships with the children and adults we serve. Position Responsibilities Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care within the hygienist’s scope of practice Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, scalings, polishing, fluoride treatments, sealants, and other appropriate preventive services Review medical and dental histories and obtain vital signs as appropriate Perform oral health assessments and document clinical findings Take diagnostic dental radiographs while following proper radiation safety protocols Educate patients and families regarding oral hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and individualized home-care recommendations Maintain complete and accurate electronic patient records Follow all infection prevention, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements Help create a comfortable, positive experience for patients of all ages Communicate effectively with patients, parents/guardians, and members of the Simply Smiles team Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team to maintain an efficient, supportive practice environment Qualifications Current Maine Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing Independent Practice Dental Hygienist (IPDH) authority welcomed but not required Current CPR certification Strong clinical skills and commitment to high-quality preventive care Excellent communication and patient education skills Comfortable working with both children and adults Pediatric experience is a plus Familiarity with electronic dental records and dental practice software; Curve Dental experience is a plus Knowledge of infection control, HIPAA, and professional dental hygiene standards Dependable, compassionate, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Why Join Simply Smiles?
