Job Summary Our dental assistants are the clinical backbone of every operatory. When you execute at a high level, rooms turn over fast, doctors stay productive, patients feel cared for, and the whole practice runs better. As a Dental Assistant, you'll provide high-quality chairside assistance that allows the doctor to operate at the top of their license. You'll work within a clearly defined, performance-based career path (DA I through DA III) with transparent criteria for advancement and compensation growth — whether you're building foundational consistency in room turnover and procedure competency, independently driving schedule efficiency and doctor throughput, or leading and training teammates. Duties · Provide high-quality chairside assistance across all procedures, ensuring doctor efficiency and patient comfort throughout every appointment. · Set up and break down operatories for each appointment and ensure room readiness before every patient. · Maintain impeccable infection control, OSHA compliance, and Gleam's clinical protocols — without exception. · Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment. · Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging technology under Florida radiation safety standards. · Document procedures accurately in Open Dental under provider direction, supporting compliance, HIPAA, and continuity of care. · Communicate with patients about procedures, next steps, and post-care instructions with confidence and care. · Anticipate doctor needs and manage operatory flow to reduce delays, idle time, and procedure interruptions (DA II+). · Assist on advanced procedures including crown and bridge, restorations, and limited oral surgery (DA II+). · Perform expanded-function procedures where Florida EFDA certification applies, and mentor DA I/II teammates (DA III). Qualifications Certified or in-training Dental Assistant with chairside experience and instrument processing proficiency Basic to advanced knowledge of dental terminology, radiography basics, and patient care in general dentistry setting Familiarity with dental software and EMR systems (Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and HIPPA/compliance practices Ability to assist during procedures, manage patient flow, and maintain sterile, oSHA-compliant treatment areas Our Core Values We hire for values first.
