Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Ability to administer local anesthesia (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred/required Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs while maintaining proper infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend. Ensure aseptic techniques are followed diligently to maintain a sterile environment and comply with HIPAA regulations. Document treatment details precisely, including medical coding and documentation review for billing accuracy. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental terminology knowledge and patient care skills. Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general setting is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Experience with medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding will be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with professionalism and compassion in a fast-paced environment.
