Job Overview Greater Nashua Dental Connection (GNDC) is a nonprofit public health dental clinic dedicated to providing quality, compassionate dental care to individuals and families who may otherwise have limited or no access to dental services. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing comprehensive preventive dental hygiene services while promoting oral health, disease prevention, and patient education. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, professional, and comfortable working with a diverse patient population, including individuals who may have significant dental needs, language barriers, or limited access to routine dental care. Duties Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services in accordance with state regulations and established clinic protocols. Perform patient assessments, medical and dental history reviews, periodontal charting, and oral cancer screenings. Provide prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planning as appropriate within the scope of practice. Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by licensure and clinic protocols. Apply fluoride and other preventive treatments as indicated. Identify oral health concerns and communicate findings to the treating dentist. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and treatment notes. Recognize signs of periodontal disease, caries, oral lesions, and other conditions requiring dental evaluation. Provide appropriate referrals or recommendations for follow-up care when indicated.
